Deputising for King, Kreishan attends Bethlehem midnight mass for Christmas
Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Kreishan late Saturday attended the Midnight Mass at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem to mark Christmas in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Kreishan, deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah II, attended the Christmas dinner held by the Custody of the Holy Land on the occasion of Christmas in the Church of the Nativity.
The mass was also attended by Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, in addition to foreign officials and ambassadors.
Kreishan conveyed the greetings, congratulations and blessings of King Abdullah and the Jordanian people to all Christian denominations.
The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Pizzaballa, who the Mass, along with a handful of bishops, priests, monks and nuns and deacons, called on all the peoples of the earth to pursue peace instead of wars.
Patriarch Pizzaballa wished that peace would come to the land of peace and the city of peace, Bethlehem, the cradle of Christ, the Messenger of Peace, and to the rest of its sister cities from the other Palestinian cities.
Kreishan also attended the Christmas dinner organized by the Custody of the Holy Land, on the occasion of Christmas, in the Church of the Nativity, in the presence of official, popular and Christian figures in the city.
President Abbas had met Minister Krishan at the presidential palace in Bethlehem.
President Abbas lauded the strong fraternal ties between Jordanian and Palestinian peoples, expressing appreciation for the great support provided by Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, to the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people.
