The Public Security Directorate confirmed that a special security force carried out a raid Monday morning on a terrorist cell in Al Husseiniya area in Ma'an, after the investigations carried out by the investigation team assigned to the martyrdom of the Brigadier General Dalabeh led to suspecting a group of terrorist brothers.
The statement added that the special security force surrounded the whereabouts of the suspects and immediately once the raid began, one of them fired an automatic weapon at the force, and the rules of engagement were applied.
The raid led to the arrest of nine other persons suspected of involvement in the case, including four brothers of the murdered terrorist who fired at the force, and three other sons of one of them, along with two other persons who were with them. They were seized with a set of automatic firearms and a large amount of ammunition, PSD added.
Investigations into the death of Brigadier General Dalabeh had confirmed, through information and evidence collected at the crime scene, that the suspicion was limited to the group previously mentioned, most of whose members hold terrorist ideology.
The Directorate of Public Security indicated that investigations with those arrested are ongoing, and the results will be announced.
