Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA) said that the tourism sector recovery during 2022 was clearly faster than expectations.
The report issued by the association, on Monday, on the recovery of the tourism sector for the current and next years, indicated that the rate of recovery of the sector during 2022 reached about 85-90%, compared to 2019.
JITOA indicated that the demand for reservations for the next year 2023 is promising, and it is expected that there will be a full recovery by March 2023, and that in the third quarter of 2023, especially after the return of the Japan, China and East Asia markets, the recovery rate will reach 120%, compared to 2019.
The association indicated that the distinguished marketing campaign for Jordan during the World Cup period in Qatar contributed to the marketing of the Kingdom and its marketing effects will be felt during the years 2023 and 2024.
The association emphasized that Low-cost airlines significantly contributed to the speed of recovery and marketing to Jordan, pointing to challenges that still exist such as the lack of hotel rooms, tourist buses and guides, JITOA said.
