Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi Friday participated in the opening of the eighth session of the Rome Conference on Mediterranean Dialogues entitled 'Reshaping the International Order after the Ukraine Crisis.'
The dialogue, inaugurated by Italian President Sergio Mattarella, saw the participation of representatives from 58 countries.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani said he appreciates Jordan's role in maintaining regional security and stability and its 'great' commitment to hosting refugees.
He praised Jordan's pioneering role in efforts to realise a just solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and seeking to bring the parties back to the negotiating table to reach serious and effective negotiations, emphasising the importance of the role of the Hashemite Custodianship over the holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
