King's speech confirms political will to make economic modernization plan "a success": Economists
Economists on Sunday said that the Speech from the Throne, His Majesty King Abdullah II, delivered today at the opening of the second ordinary session of the 19th Parliament, is a comprehensive national project for the three modernization paths.
They told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the success of the project requires national cooperation in which everyone must participate, including government agencies, economic sectors, civil society institutions and public groups, all working in the spirit of one team to advance Jordan and continue the construction process in the country's second centennial.
'His Majesty the King’s speech in the Parliament came to confirm that Jordan is proceeding with the construction process through a modernization plan that covered all political, economic and administrative aspects, and confirm the political will of the state under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah to accomplish the three modernization paths' they added.
They stressed that the private sector will work with its full potential and capabilities to make the royal vision a success, which gave the private sector an important and pivotal role in the economic modernization plan.
The economists called for continuous follow-up and evaluation of the executive plan for economic modernization to improve it in order to achieve the vision of building a strong and competitive Jordanian economy capable of attracting local and foreign investments.
They noted that the King's speech and his continuous affirmation constitute an incentive for the economic sector with all its components to work diligently and with high determination in strengthening the national economy and placing Jordan on the map of the safest and most stable Arab, regional and global economies, which is reflected in the well-being of citizens and the improvement of their standard of living.
