Jordan's parliament decries Israeli operations in Palestinian cities
Jordan's Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Tuesday denounced the Israeli occupation army’s military operations in occupied Palestinian cities and attacks on them, the latest of which was the operations in Nablus and Ramallah today.
The Committee said in a statement that the Israeli military escalation campaign threatens to erupt a new cycle of violence.
President of the Committee Khaldoun Hina said the Israeli 'incursions' herald a dangerous escalation for which Israel bears responsibility, threaten security and stability and destroy the entire peace process.
Hina noted the need for the Israeli authorities to stop their military operations against the Palestinians and all their illegal measures that undermine the two-state solution and the chances of achieving peace.
He urged the international community to provide protection for the Palestinians and to launch a real effort to achieve a just peace that ends the occupation and lead to the creation of an independent Palestinian state with occupied Jerusalem as its capital on the June 4, 1967 lines.
