King Abdullah meets with officials participating in 2022 OSCE Mediterranean Conference
His Majesty King Abdullah II met at Al Husseiniya Palace on Monday, with officials participating in the 2022 Mediterranean Conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), which Jordan is hosting in the Dead Sea.
His Majesty met with the current head of the OSCE, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, the organization's Secretary-General Helga Maria Schmid, and North Macedonia's Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani.
During the meeting, His Majesty expressed his pride in the strategic relations between the Kingdom and the member states of the organization, pointing to the importance of cooperation and coordination in light of regional and international challenges.
His Majesty also stressed the need to continue strengthening the coordination of the OSCE with its partners in the Middle East and building on the outcomes of the conference, stressing Jordan's commitment to work with the organization to face common challenges.
The meeting touched on the overall developments in the region, efforts to reach political solutions to crises in it, and the continuation of efforts to support refugees and host countries.
His Majesty reiterated the centrality of the Palestinian cause, stressing that there is no stability or prosperity in the region without a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
His Majesty pointed out the importance of continuing the efforts made at various levels in the war on terrorism, within a holistic approach.
During their meeting with His Majesty, the officials stressed the importance of holding the conference in order to enhance dialogue with the Mediterranean partners of the organization, pointing to the close cooperation with Jordan on many issues in the region and the world.
