Chief of the Royal Court Yousef Issawi, Head of the Follow-up Committee for Implementation of His Majesty's Initiatives, met on Tuesday with dignitaries and representatives of the Southern Badia to check on the needs of their region.
The Royal Court meeting followed the King's meeting with the Southern Badia leaders last week.
Issawi commended the role of the the Southern Badia in national building and the country's security and stability, noting that today's meeting was to follow up on the priorities and demands of the Southern region, which, he pledged, will be discussed with the government and concerned authorities and could incorporated with government plans and programs.
He said His Majesty the King underlined the need to address pressures on citizens, mainly the problems of poverty and unemployment, and secure a decent and stable life for Jordanians, as he directs the implementation of development projects and programs and the need to ensure a fair distribution of dividends.
Issawi pointed to resources in the Southern Badia, particularly in the agricultural, mineral and tourism sectors, adding that a farming project in the Southern, Central and Northern Badia regions, which was announced by the King, will start soon.
He also mentioned new houses for underprivileged families and job-generating and other developmental projects in the southern region.
