PM launches National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction
Prime Minister Bishr Khasawneh launched the National Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction 2022-2030; In response to climate change and natural disasters.
Khasawneh said that during the past three years, Jordan, like all countries of the world, witnessed one of the most difficult crises in human history, namely COVID-19, whose impact exceeded expectations and challenged the most accurate strategies.
He stressed that this pandemic proved beyond any doubt the need for a continuous review of strategies related to crises and disasters.
'We have overcome the Corona crisis, and have come a long way on the road to recovery, thanks to the directives of His Hashemite Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness, Crown Prince Al Hussein, and the efforts of all state institutions', Khasawneh added.
He pointed out that dealing with COVID-19 was not easy, as we have established field hospitals and equipped them with equipment, and we have employed thousands of health cadres, and provided millions of doses of vaccines, in addition to spending on business sustainability and supporting those affected.
