Ministry of Labor: Prophet’s birthday holiday includes private sector
Prime Minister's communiqué to off all ministries, official departments, institutions and public bodies in celebration of Prophet Mohammed’s birthday, which falls next Saturday, corresponding to the eighth of October, includes the private sector, Ministry of Labor announced.
The ministry confirmed that official holidays are paid to workers in private sector institutions if they work in them, and they are entitled to an additional wage at the rate of (150%) of their usual wage in accordance with the provisions of Article 59/b of the Jordanian Labor Law No. (8) for the year 1996 and its amendments.
