The Royal Naval Force early Monday foiled a dawn attempt to smuggle a large amount of narcotics inside Jordanian territorial waters, an official source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army said.
A boat was spotted at dawn trying to infiltrate the Kingdom's territorial waters, and Naval Force quick response boats promptly moved to the site, but the intruders had fled.
After a search and survey of the area, quantities of narcotic substances were found and transferred to the competent security authorities, it said.
The command vowed to deal firmly with any attempt to breach the Kingdom's maritime borders or tamper with national security.
