Ministry of Health: two Covid-19 deaths, 2,776 cases recorded in one week
The Ministry of Health announced Sunday that 2,776 new cases and two deaths were recorded in the Kingdom during the 37th epidemiological week of 2022 (September 10th to 16th), marking a decrease of 18 percent.
A total of 17,825 PCR tests were conducted over the past week, about 15.6 percent of which were positive, the report indicated.
Moreover, the ministry said the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 59, compared with 76 a week earlier.
The report showed there are currently 2,371 active Covid-19 cases countrywide, down 20 percent compared to the 2,967 in the previous week.
On the national vaccination program, the ministry pointed out that the number of shots administered during the 37th week stood at 1,345 for the first jab, 1,622 for the second, and 838 for the booster dose, totaling 3,805.
The total number of first dose recipients now stands at 4,823,361, at a 75.4 percent rate for the 18yrs and over target group and 4,560,086 for the second jab, at a 71.3 percent rate, and 678,795 for the booster shot, according to the briefing.
Regarding immunization for the 12-17 age group, 238,822 received the first dose at a 25 percent rate, and double jabbed recipients reached 203,792 at a 20 percent rate. Meanwhile, among the 5-11 years age group, 346 and 258 children received the first and second doses, respectively.
