House speaker lauds ties with Saudi Arabia in all areas
Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Abdul Karim Al-Dughmi, lauded ties between Jordan with Saudi Arabia in various fields under leaders of both Kingdoms.
At a meeting of the house's foreign affairs committee with Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, MP Khaldoun Hina, the committee head, called for expanding areas of investment between the two countries in many fields, especially tourism, trade and agriculture, in a way that achieves common interests of both countries and peoples.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Sudairi said that Saudi-Jordanian relations are solid and can be built upon in many fields and at various levels.
He added that Saudi Arabia is looking forward to promoting parliamentary diplomacy as an important arm for strengthening relations.
Al-Sudairi valued Jordan's role at the Arab and Islamic levels, underlining the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and Saudi Arabia's support to Jordan in this regard.
He added that Saudi Arabia agrees with Jordan on many issues, especially the Palestinian issue, stressing the support of the Palestinian people towards the establishment of their independent state.
With regard to the investment sector, Al-Sudairi indicated that Jordan enjoys an attractive environment and a good reputation, pointing out that Saudi Arabia has been investing in Jordan for over than fifty years, as Saudi Arabia supports this joint sector and promotes it through several measures.
He mentioned the recent visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Jordan, in which joint agreements between the two countries, especially those related to mutual investment were signed.
