Police warn of "festive firing", traffic violations during Tawjihi celebrations
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) announced on Wednesday that it had put in place a plan to deal with any unlawful behaviors that might go along with the celebrations of the Thursday release of the General Secondary Examination Certificate (Tawjihi).
In particular, the directorate issued a warning against engaging in serious traffic infractions like unlawful motorcades, hanging out of car windows and sunroofs, and reckless driving, as well as against launching the so-called 'festive gunfire.'
The PSD also pledged stricter control over celebratory gunfire and stated that anyone engaging in such conduct will be arrested, calling for celebrations to be conducted in a civilized manner and avoiding any behaviors that endanger lives or impede traffic flow on the streets.
