15 projects not implemented since establishing cooperation between Jordan and WB
Data from the World Bank showed that 15 projects and financial programs have not been implemented since establishing cooperation between World Bank and Jordan in 1961 without clarifying the reasons.
According to the data of the World Bank, the last project suspended was 'Emergency Food Security' with an estimated value of 480 million dollars, AlMamlaka TV reported.
The Jordanian government pointed out that preliminary agreements, worth up to $430 million, have been agreed upon with other international organisations with appropriate financial terms.
It explained that the new financial conditions “were better and more promising for this project”.
In October 2021, The World Bank suspended negotiations with the government on a proposed project, estimated to worth $115 million, to support the steadfastness of the Jordanian private sector and help in recovering from COVID 19.
