Senate endorses amendments to sales tax, human rights center laws
The Senate on Tuesday approved amendments to the National Center for Human Rights (NCHR) law and the General Sales Tax law as referred by the Lower House of Parliament.
The NCHR law stipulates that one appointed as president or commissioner general of the center should not be affiliated with any political party. Meanwhile, the amended sales tax law opts for the principle of supply as opposed to the principle of sale and shortens the period of refunds to two months.
