Cabinet discusses implementation of public sector reform plan
The Cabinet Sunday started discussions on the approach of implementing the public sector reform roadmap, which the government announced last week.
The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Nasser Shraideh, briefed the Cabinet on the proposed work methods and mechanisms for implementing the roadmap according to set timeframes.
On a different note, the Cabinet approved the Industry Support and Development Fund Regulations for 2022 that would establish the Support and Development of Industry.
The Fund aims to reduce production costs and other costs incurred by the national industry. This enhances its competitiveness for a foothold in new markets.
The establishment of the Fund would also contribute to maximising the benefit of the national economy in terms of giving Jordanian products a competitive advantage in the local and international markets.
The government will issue instructions to implement this system, which includes the three main programmes related to the work of the Fund. It will work to provide financial allocations to the Fund by allocating JOD30 million annually in the general budget.
The Cabinet approved a law of means and mechanisms for implementing non-custodial measures for 2022. The law defines the procedures for carrying out a sentence with non-custodial measurements according to Article (25) of the Penal Code.
The law also defines the tasks and powers of the competent directorate in the Ministry of Justice and other entities involved in implementing non-custodial measures.
The Cabinet also approved the non-hazardous solid waste management system for 2022 that aims to regulate the management of non-hazardous solid waste to achieve environmental protection and public health.
