Oded Eran, Israel’s former ambassador to Jordan said that the joint industrial zone would not normalize the relations between Jordanians and Israelis.
Eran, who served as Israel's ambassador to Jordan from 1997-2000, told The Circuit that 'I’m hesitant to say this signifies a normalizing of relations between Israelis and Jordanians, however, if this project does finally come to a conclusion, it will be an important step, psychologically, because it has become a lingering symbol of the failure of the relations between Israel and Jordan”.
