Cabinet approves mechanism for disbursing JD30-million fuel subsidy
The Cabinet on Sunday approved the payment mechanism of the JD30-million fuel subsidy, a move meant to support the beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund (NAF), underprivileged university students and the public transport sector.
As per the mechanism, JD16 million will go to 216,000 households benefiting from the NAF programmes, JD4 million to 74,000 needy university students and JD5 million to support public transport, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Council of Ministers decided to disburse subsidies to the eligible categories for a six-month period, effective from the beginning of July until the end of 2022, to be paid as of August.
