State minister receives Arab League official ahead of media meetings
Minister of State for Media Affairs and the government's official spokesperson Faisal Shboul received Monday Assistant Secretary-General and Supervisor of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Arab media meetings hosted by Jordan on Tuesday and organized by the Secretariat General of the Arab League / Media and Communication Sector in cooperation and coordination with the Arab Commission for Satellite Broadcasting.
Shboul underlined Jordan's support for the Arab media meetings and the efforts of the Arab League to address issues and challenges facing the media and communication sector, including extremism and digital media, underscoring the importance of these meetings and their role in shaping joint Arab solutions. The state minister also highlighted the schedule set for the Arab delegations participating in the meetings, which includes a visit to Irbid, the capital of Arab culture.
For his part, Khattabi thanked the Kingdom for hosting the meetings, lauding its support for the Arab League's efforts in various fields.
He also stressed the importance of holding these meetings, which 'discuss important topics and issues,' voicing hope that they will produce outputs and results that will be submitted as recommendations to the Council of Arab Information Ministers, which is set to meet next September.
