Prime Minister Bishr Khasawneh received Monday the Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Mawlawi, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom to exchange expertise and contribute to local development.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the historical relations between Jordan and Lebanon, pointing out that the Jordanian government, under directives from His Majesty King Abdullah II, is working to provide support and basic needs to support Lebanon.
Khasawneh also pointed to His Majesty's efforts with the international community to enable Lebanon to overcome the challenges it faces.
For his part, Mawlawi voiced appreciation for Jordan's efforts, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, to support Lebanon at all regional and international levels. He also spoke about the economic challenges facing Lebanon, including the financial crisis and electricity and gas shortages.
The meeting also tackled the repercussions of the Syrian refugee crisis on the two countries, which are among the largest Syrian refugee-hosting countries.
