Jordan to host Arab League’s media meetings on Tuesday
Jordan on Tuesday will host the media meetings of the Secretariat General of the Arab League / Media and Communication sector, held in cooperation with the Arab Commission for Satellite Broadcasting (ACSB).
The three-day meetings will bring together Arab media, telecommunications, and information experts and officials to discuss pressing media issues such as the role of the media in combating extremism and the impact of electronic media and video games on society.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Minister of State for Media Affairs, Faisal Shboul, expressed Jordan's pleasure at hosting the meeting, as it exemplifies the Arab efforts, coordination, and cooperation to address the newly-emerging media challenges in order to protect societies.
For his part, Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, expressed his appreciation for Jordan for hosting these multidimensional meetings, which aim to come up with practical and creative recommendations to enrich the Arab media system and push collective efforts to update the joint Arab media strategy.
