Syria rejects Kingdom’s request for water — minister
Syria has turned down Jordan's request to supply the Kingdom with 30 million cubic metres of water, Minister of Water and Irrigation Mohammad Najjar said on Tuesday.
The request was rejected due to weather circumstances and the political situation in the southern parts of Syria, the minister noted, according to Al Mamlaka TV.
On the water situation, Najjar said that over the past week, a tender was floated through the private sector to speed up the rehabilitation of the Mukheibeh wells, notably to increase farmers' share of water.
