The Ministry of Health said that the Kingdom has registered 2,135 new COVID-19 infections in the 27th epidemiological week (2 July – 8 July), making a 61 percent compared with the same period in the 26th week.
According to the weekly brief issued by the ministry, the positivity rate of about 30,644 PCR tests collected countrywide was at 6.9 per cent.
The number of currently active cases stood at 1,768, with 15 admitted to hospitals during the week.
On vaccinations, the ministry said that a total of 1,803 persons have taken the first dose of Covid vaccines during the week and the number of those who were double-jabbed decreased to 2,082 compared with 7937 in the 26th week.
