Royal Jordanian carries 686,000 passengers to Jordan until May end
Royal Jordanian on Tuesday said its aircrafts carried 686,000 passengers to Jordan in the first five months of this year.
An RJ statement said that until last May, it had carried about 500,000 non-Jordanian visitors, through 5,700 regular and charter flights.
The number of non-Jordanian visitors coming to Jordan via RJ is expected to reach more than 1 million this year, including 300,000 visitors from European nationalities, 220,000 from the United States, and 70,000 from the Gulf Cooperation Council, RJ VIce-Chairman and CEO Samer Majali said.
He underlined RJ's keenness to support the tourism strategy and its implementation of plans and programs that would increase the number of tourists coming to Jordan.
He added that RJ is exerting its utmost efforts, within its available capabilities, to increase the number of flights and operate them to tourist attractions in response to the demand for travel as well as provide services to various sectors of travelers to and from the Kingdom, in addition to the 'transit' passengers passing through Queen Alia International Airport to other destinations on the RJ network.
