Agriculture minister, FAO discuss water harvesting projects
Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hanaifat met with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Representative in Jordan, Nabil Assaf, on Wednesday to discuss joint projects to maximize water harvesting under the National Plan for Sustainable Agriculture (2022-2025).
According to a statement issued by the ministry on Thursday, the plan targets 10,000 wells and 60 earthfill dams and embankments, which will benefit urban water supply and livestock breeders in Badia and across the governorates.
During the meeting, the minister praised the FAO's ongoing collaboration with the ministry in order to develop Jordan's agricultural sector.
