The Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Jordan amounted to USD622 million in 2021, constituting 1.2 percent of the Arab region's total FDI.
According to data issued Tuesday by the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (Dhaman), the Arab region's FDI in 2021 went up by 42 percent to USD53 billion, comprising 6.3 percent of developing countries' FDI and 3.3 percent of the global FDI that totaled USD1.58 trillion.
The top five Arab countries that took over 96 percent of the region's FDI are topped by the United Arab Emirates with USD20.7 billion or 39.1 percent, followed by Saudi Arabia with USD19.3 billion or 36.5 percent, Egypt with USD5.1 billion or 9.7 percent, Oman with USD3.6 billion or 6.8 percent, and finally Marocco with USD2.2 billion or 4.1 percent.
