German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock tested positive for coronavirus shortly after the start of her visit to Pakistan, Foreign Office spokesperson, Christopher Burger, said on Tuesday.
Baerbock cancelled her tour which included Greece and Turkey, according to Germany's DW.
During a lunch meal, Baerbock noticed that she had lost her sense of taste, the spokesperson said. He added that Baerbock took a rapid COVID antigen test and the result came back positive.
He noted that 'all other appointments have now been cancelled.'
The minister had already held talks with her Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, which centered around bilateral cooperation and regional challenges, including the situation in Afghanistan.
