14th Jordan-EU Association Council meeting kicks off
The Jordanian government and the European Union met on the Dead Sea shores on Thursday to explore ways to deepen their bilateral partnership, which is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year.
The fourteenth meeting of the Jordan-EU Association Council will discuss and approve economic and development support projects and programs under the New EU-Jordan Partnership Priorities for the years 2021-2027.
The meeting, held for the first time in an EU's Southern Neighborhood country, is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell.
European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi is also taking part in the meeting, along with a number of EU foreign ministers and Jordanian officials.
