The International Exhibition JIMEX / SONEX 2022 hosted on Tuesday, May 31 a seminar on 'Smart Czech Solutions in the Energy Sector'. Organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Amman in the presence of the Czech Ambassador in Amman H.E. Mr. Josef Koutsky, the seminar was focusing on innovative ideas in the field of renewables and energy efficient solutions, including the S.A.W.E.R project (Solar Air Water Earth Resource), which won the award for the Best Innovation at the EXPO 2020.
As Zuzana Benešová/ Commercial Counsellor at the Czech Embassy in Amman emphasized in her introductory speech, despite different natural conditions for renewable energy sources Jordan and the Czech Republic are both countries with more than ten million inhabitants who almost lack natural gas and oil resources. This fact makes the issue of the further development of renewable sources an important part of the debate on increasing their own energy security and self-sufficiency.
The autonomous unit generates drinking water in the dry hot climate - Project S. A. W. E. R was presented by one of its creators, Dr. Petr Wolf, who is a Research Leader in Photovoltaics at the Czech University Center for Energy Effective Buildings. He also introduced another project - 'NCK CAMEB Omice', an intelligent system of predictive control of a family house regarding photovoltaics, batteries, electro mobility, heating or cooling in relation to the current weather forecast and energy prices.
The successful implementation of Czech solutions in the field of solar energy in Jordan and the surrounding region was presented at the seminar by the Eng.Mu’ayyad Almomani. He is Regional Manager from Solarity, a distributor and solutions provider of photovoltaic systems and a Czech company whose branch has been operating in Jordan since 2011.
The Seminar was attended by many Academics and state officers from Ministries as well as high-level businesspersons in the renewable energy sector.
