Transport Minister calls for promoting flow of goods between Jordan, KSA
Minister of Transport Wajih Azaizeh called for facilitating procedures followed at the border crossings between Jordan and Saudi Arabia and overcoming any obstacles and issues that may face transporting goods between the two countries.
Speaking to meetings of the Jordan-Saudi Joint Technical Committee for Land Transport, which opened Monday in Amman, Azaizeh laide the deep-rooted, historic and well-established Jordan-Saudi ties in various fields, especially in the field of transport in its various forms.
He stressed the importance of increasing the flow of transportation, trade and goods for both parties.
The two-day committee is chaired from the Jordanian side by the Ministry's Secretary-General, Wissam Al-Tahtamouni, while the Saudi delegation is chaired by President of the Transport General Authority (TGA), Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih.
Al-Tahtmouni said that the ministry, in cooperation with its Saudi counterpart, seeks to overcome all obstacles and issues facing passengers and goods between the two parties, promotes the free flow of commercial traffic and streamlines procedures for citizens.
In turn, Al-Rumaih called for enhancing joint cooperation in the field of transport in its various forms, and introducing the latest internationally approved systems for the free movement of passengers and goods.
'We are working together with our Jordanian brothers to raise the efficiency of transportation between the two brotherly countries, and to increase exports and trade exchange,' Al-Rumaih concluded.
