Jordan’s history, geography, present compiled in new book in Malayalam language
A book was recently published portraying Jordan’s history, landmarks and daily life in Malayalam, the language spoken in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
Titled “Olive Marathanalil”, which translates into “Under the shade of the olive tree”, it was written by Ramesh Shankaran, who has been working in Jordan since 2018.
Shankaran used his leisure time to travel, and in the span of three years, the travelogues penned were compiled.
Jordan’s history, geography and present are weaved into 36 easy-to-read chapters, noted Indira Balachandran, Malayalam author, in the book’s foreword.
