Deputizing for Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh, Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Wajih Owais, on Saturday attended a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Higher Education for Arab ambassadors and cultural attachés residing in the Kingdom, and Arab students studying in Jordan, entitled 'You are Jordan's ambassadors.'
Speaking to the event, organized in cooperation with Ministries of Tourism, Youth and the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), Owais said that choosing the title 'You are Jordan's ambassadors' by the organizers as it carries humanitarian messages about graduates of Jordanian higher education institutions, whom the ministry considers its ambassadors in their homelands, carrying knowledge and thought, in addition to beautiful memories they left in Jordan.
'As the Kingdom is about to celebrate the 76th Independence Day and its second centennial of the Jordanian state, the Ministry of Higher Education affirms its keenness and insistence on preserving the reputation of the Jordanian higher education sector and the excellence of its graduates around the world,' Owais said in the ceremony.
He added that the ministry is working hard through communication with Jordanian universities and colleges, in addition to Arab ambassadors and cultural attachés, to overcome all difficulties facing Arab students currently studying in Jordan.
He pointed out that the ministry is currently working, in cooperation with its partners, to implement a package of measures directed at Arab students studying in Jordan that serve them and achieve their interests, which will be announced successively.
There are 38,000 Arab and foreign students from 106 countries studying in Jordanian public and private higher education institutions, according to the ministry's statistics for the academic year 2021/2022.
