Queen Rania hosts group of women over Iftar in Irbid
Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah Tuesday hosted a group of local women over Iftar in Irbid, where she commended the attendees for their contributions to local communities.
Held at the Jordan University for Science and Technology, the Iftar brought together a number of women from Irbid who are active in education, media, culture, social welfare and volunteer work.
Before breaking fast, the Queen expressed her admiration for the warmth and pleasant company of the people of Irbid, as well as its natural scenery.
'I am happy to be with you today. Thank you for your warm welcome,' Her Majesty said. 'Irbid is known for its beauty in the spring. I love coming here,' she added.
Speaking to the women after Iftar, Her Majesty applauded their accomplishments and substantial contributions to local efforts in educational and social development.
'Your hard work is a reflection of your excellence and altruism,' she said.
In turn, the Governor of Irbid, Radwan Outoum thanked Queen Rania for her invitation, stating that this occasion reflects the deep bond between Jordan’s leadership and its people.
He also noted that Her Majesty’s pride in Irbid’s women provides a great incentive for them to do more for their country and people.
