The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday summoned the charge d'affaires of the Israeli embassy in Amman to convey a protest message pertaining to the illegal Israeli violations and provocations against Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif, stressing the need to respect worshippers' rights to the free exercise of religious rituals without restrictions, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Haytham Abu Al Foul, said that the Israeli charge d'affaires was informed with a protest message to be immediately conveyed to his government including calls for immediately halting Israeli violations and attempts to alter the status quo at Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif and impose a spatial and temporal division, which represents a serious escalation, and a condemned and unacceptable breach of international law and the obligations of Israel as an occupying force.
