The Ministry of Health Sunday said that the Kingdom recorded 4 coronavirus deaths and 475 infections in the 15th epidemiological week (9-15 April), bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 14,059 and the caseload to 1,695,432.
According to the ministry's daily brief, the positivity rate of about 23,451 PCR tests collected nationwide was at 2.03 per cent. The number of currently active cases stood at 332, with 35 admitted to hospitals during the week and 49 cases have been discharged. It said that the total number of confirmed cases that are now hospitalized reached 53.
According to the weekly report, the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was at 0 per cent, intensive care beds was 6 per cent and ventilators 2 per cent.
The occupancy rate of isolation beds in the central region was at 2 percent, intensive care beds 5 per cent and ventilators 3 per cent, it said.
In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was at 1 per cent, intensive care beds 2 per cent and ventilators at 0 per cent, it said.
The ministry said that 594 Covid-19 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of expected recoveries by the end of the 14-day isolation period to 1,681,041.
On vaccinations, the ministry said that a total of 4,750,148 people have taken the first dose of Covid vaccines and the number of those who were double-jabbed climbed to 4,469,823, while the number of those who received the booster shot rose to 641,508.
