Government seeks to enhance communication with media — Shboul
Media is a guarantor of public opinion, as it can raise awareness, mirror society’s concerns and counter rumours that can impact social cohesion, Minister of State for Media Affairs Faisal Shboul said on Tuesday.
During a meeting with radio presenters, Shboul, who is also the government spokesperson, highlighted the government’s efforts to ensure the flow of information and enhance government communication with the media, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The attendees highlighted the challenges facing media institutions, calling for expanding radio stations’ broadcasting operations across the Kingdom, through reconsidering licensing fees.
They also drew attention to the need to enhance government contact with radio stations and operationalise the role of ministries' media spokespersons, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
