Jordan participates in 2022 Milan International Tourism Fair-JTB
The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) is participating in the activities of the 2022 Milan International Tourism Fair, which will run from April 10 to 12, in the Italian city of Milan.
22 Jordanian tourism offices and hotels, in addition to the Royal Jordanian (RJ) and Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) are taking part in the event, according to a JTB statement Sunday.
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and Chairman of the JTB Board of Directors, Nayef Fayez, stressed the importance of Jordan's participation, represented by Jordanian tourism sectors.
The fair is a 'remarkable' opportunity to strengthen relations among suppliers and distribution channels in the tourism industry and discuss the key obstacles facing the tourism sector, while putting forward proposals that push the industry's growth, according to Fayez.
Fayez pointed to the importance of the Italian market, adding that Italy is a key countries for incoming tourism to Jordan.
Meanwhile, JTB Director General, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, affirmed the JTB's keenness to participate in this international travel event to promote Jordan's tourist destinations.
The JTB is also keen to communicate effectively to identify demands and proposals of promotional trips' organizers, who are taking part in the fair, and enhance ways of joint cooperation, Arabiat added.
During the 3-day exhibition, meetings will be held with various Italian and international tourism and travel offices, aimed to promote Jordan and discuss ways of joint cooperation, he noted.
The JTB seeks to attract tourism from different countries across the world, and is working to direct visitors' attention to Jordan's various tourism products, he noted, pointing out that the Kingdom's attraction of low-cost airlines will contribute to a significant increase in tourism from Italy.
For his part, Director of JTB Marketing Department, Ahmed Hmoud, said the fair is held since 1980 and has been attended by more than 1,300 travel businesses, representing 79 countries.
Italian market is key for the Jordanian tourism sector, after the increase in the Jordan-bound trips from Italy, as the tourist number in 2019 reached nearly 90,000, Hmoud added.
