Joint LH committee okays 2019 GAM profession licensing bill
The joint 'finance, economy and investment' parliamentary committee approved a draft 2019 profession licensing law of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), which was earlier returned by the Senate.
The joint Lower House panel approved the draft law after it held 'intensive' discussions on a number of clauses referred from the Senate, with the aim of endorsing an investment-attractive legislation that seeks to simplify procedures in issuing or renewing licenses, its head MP Khair Abu Sa’ilik said while chairing its meeting Wednesday.
According to a press statement, the deputies stressed the importance of developing legislative amendments that contribute to addressing obstacles that hinder the GAM's work and develop strategies to raise its efficiency, lauding the GAM's e-transformation drive in the process of executing citizens’ transactions.
The bill's mandating reasons eye to regulate professions within the GAM's regions, as well as to identify the necessary duties, responsibilities, powers and requirements to achieve the GAM's integration with the competent authorities, to attract investments.
