Minister of Culture, Haifa Najjar, on Tuesday met with Venezuela's Ambassador to Jordan, Omar Vielma Osuna, on ways to develop cultural ties.
Najjar said the meeting covered activating cultural ties between the two countries, and work is underway to develop a cultural exchange agreement that would enhance cooperation in the field of activities, artistic centers and cultural heritage through a number of mutual events, according to a ministry statement.
She added that diplomatic culture constitutes a key theme of cultural work, stressing the importance of Venezuela's participation again in the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, which represents an important opportunity for the convergence of cultures.
For his part, the Venezuelan envoy reaffirmed his country's desire to develop cultural relations with Jordan 'as a beautiful country and kind people', and highlighted a number of activities presented by one of the Venezuelan heritage teams in Amman.
The ambassador referred to the Arab influence on Venezuelan music, which led to its diversity and richness, calling on the Ministry of Culture to cooperate in issuing an Arabic version of 'The Arab World in Our Music', which constitutes one of the most important books on the history of music.
