Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) Khaled Kalaldeh said Monday that the commission has made key achievements and built remarkable expertise since its establishment six years ago.
'I leave the commission with my head held high by the achievements and accumulated knowledge and expertise of its cadres, the institutional development the IEC has witnessed in the past years and the successive achievements it made in running elections', he said in a farewell speech at the end of his 6-year-term as head of the commission.
However, it wasn't an easy task, he added, but with determination and concerted efforts achievement came by.
The IEC which was established by a royal decree on June 4, 2016 with Kalaldeh as head for a non-renewable term of six years.
It has organized the 2016 parliamentary elections, 2020 parliamentary elections, municipal and governorate council elections in 2017 and 2022, in addition to elections of the chambers of industry and commerce.
