The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has welcomed the announcement by the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, of a two-month truce in Yemen.
The ministry's Spokesperson Ambassador Haitham Abul Foul stressed that Jordan supports the UN efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis and affirms the need to reach a political solution based on the accredited references of the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanisms, the outcomes of the comprehensive Yemeni national dialogue and UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
He said that the Kingdom is calling for building on such positive step in order to end the crisis in Yemen and ease the suffering of its people.
