Two police officers were injured in a drug bust in a southern Amman area on Wednesday. A spokesman for the Public Security Department (PSD) said anti-narcotics agents ambushed two drug dealers while in the process of an illegal drug delivery near the Amman Development Corridor (a southern Amman highway).
As soon the peddlers spotted the police force, they struck the officers with gun fire, wounding two. The agents returned fire and injured the two dealers, the PSD spokesman said, adding that the all the injured were rushed to hospitals.
A semi-automatic rifle and drugs were found on the scene, the PSD spokesman added.
