Arab Potash Company to pay JD100mln in cash dividends
The general assembly of the Arab Potash Company (APC) on Wednesday approved a recommendation by the board of directors to distribute about JD100 million, or 120 percent of the company's capital, in cash dividends to shareholders.
In its ordinary meeting, held online this year, the APC general assembly also approved the company's board's report, 2021 financial statements and its future plans. In a statement, the company said that it delivered exceptional results in 2021, including record sales of 2.631 million metric tons, and profits of about JD217 million.
Chairman of the Board of Directors Shehada Abu Hadaib said that in 2021 the company pumped into the state treasury about JD158 million in the form of profits, taxes, mining fees, and other duties, and provided the local banking system with foreign currencies amounting to about $1.4 billion in the same year.
With regard to subsidiaries and allied companies, he explained that the sales of the Arab Fertilizers and Chemicals Industries Company (KEMAPCO) rose by 3 percent to 172,000 tons, a new record for the company, raising its revenues by 12 percent to JD91 million.
