The Senate approved the Lower House's decision to pass the Political Parties Law, as amended by the Upper House, in preparation for its endorsement by a Royal decree and its publication in the Official Gazette.
In its session on Thursday, headed by its President Faisal Fayez, and in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh and the Cabinet's members, the Senate okayed the Cities and Villages Development Law, as referred by the Lower House.
Under the the bill, the bank assumes tasks earlier entrusted to the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), enables it to provide banking services and facilities to municipalities, and changes its board formation, in accordance with corporate governance principles.
