NCHR following up on detained activists' cases, circumstances-Commissioner
The National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) is following up on cases of detained activists with all concerned parties, by making a series of contacts with officials, its Commissioner-General, Aladdin Armouti, announced.
Armouti, in a press statement on Sunday, said the NCHR received the detainees' families several times and listened to details on their cases.
In addition, he noted the center met the activists' defense lawyer to see the legal circumstances and reasons behind their arrest.
A specialized team from the NHCR visited some detainees' families in their homes and recorded their complaints related to their arrest, as well as places and conditions of their detention in Jordan's reform centers, Armouti pointed out.
On the center's future efforts, he said it will continue those visits to check on the economic impacts of the activists' arrest on their families.
He also affirmed the NCHR will monitor and follow up the activists' cases, in a way that guarantees justice in accordance with the Constitution and laws in force.
