Women-headed households in Jordan hit 17.5 per cent, Solidarity is Global Institute (SIGI) said on Wednesday. In a statement, SIGI said that 392,300 families out of 2.242 million families are woman-headed, citing the Department of Statistics figures’ for 2020.
The figures showed that 94.7 per cent of the women who head their families are economically inactive. SIGI also said that a total of 105,642 households received monthly assistance from the National Aid Fund in 2020, noting that 50 per cent of the Kingdom's underprivileged families had access to monthly assistance in 2020.
