Ramadan Football Championship draws 1,040 teams across Jordan
The Youth Ministry on Tuesday announced the beginning of registration to participate in the Ramadan Football Championship, which is the largest in the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The tournament will be held from April 7 to 29, featuring 1,040 teams from different governorates, who will partake in 1,062 matches.
The ministry’s official website provided a link to join the tournament, which allows each district to have 20 teams including members aged 18-35.
In the first stage, teams would compete in different districts in governorates until reaching the second round of the tournament, where 12 teams, representing the 12 governorates, would compete against each other.
The second round matches will be held in Amman, after preparing stadiums and accommodation for the teams.
Instructions indicated that the winner of the Governorate Championship title will receive JD2,000, while the final winner will receive an amount of JD5,000.
The tournament allows the participation of young players, with the exception of those registered in the Jordan Football Association.
The event aims to revive sports and physical activity during Ramadan and resume youth activities after being paused for more than two years due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
