MPs block bill increasing ASEZ share of tax collections
The Lower House of Parliament on Monday voted down, for a second time, a bill raising the Aqaba Special Economic Zone's (ASEZ) share of tax collections in the port city from a 25 per cent currently to 40 per cent.
In late December, the House rejected the amendment to ASEZ law before the draft was passed by the Senate. However, the legislature renewed its rejection of the bill today.
