Jordan records 24 coronavirus deaths and 22,113 cases
The Ministry of Health said Monday that it recorded 24 coronavirus deaths and 22,113 cases, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 13,532 and the caseload to 1,490,473.
According to the ministry's daily media brief, 27.86 percent of 79,378 PCR tests taken today came back positive, adding that currently active Covid-19 cases topped 188,254 with 238 admitted today to hospitals, raising hospitalizations to 1,245. Some 214 cases left hospitals today, it pointed out.
On hospitals' capacity, the daily figures showed that the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was at 29%, intensive care beds 44% and respirators 17%.
In the central region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was at 29%, intensive care beds 45% and respirators 21%, it said.
In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 15%, intensive care beds 15% and respirators 10%, it said.
It also said 12,751 Covid-19 patients have recovered, bringing total recoveries expected after the 14-day isolation period to 1,288,687.
On vaccinations, the ministry said that 4,642,966 people have taken the first dose of the coronavirus vaccines and 4,311,657 have been double-jabbed.
